Encounter with Silence, June 2023
June 25 @ 5:00 pm - July 1 @ 2:00 pm$500
Encounter with Silence: A week of radical Gospel spirituality.
Each day consists of four conferences followed by quiet time in chapel. The silence allows the retreat to take deep root in one’s life. Too often we hear the lukewarm Gospel which only produces respectability and natural virtues. This retreat challenges us to strive for holiness and union with Jesus. The retreat was founded in 1931 and has been changing lives ever since; Dorothy Day made this retreat over 20 times and called it “bread for the strong” and “it was like hearing the Gospel for the first time.” All are welcome for this wonderful retreat for those whose spiritual life is more than just a hobby.
Retreat Directed by Fr. Neil Walters
Rev. Walters was ordained on May 27, 1989. He currently serves as the Administrator at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini in Lorain, Ohio, as well as St. Vincent de Paul in Elyria, Ohio. He was Parochial Vicar over the years at St. Felicitas, St. Clarence, St. John Neumann in Cleveland, St. Sebastian in Akron, and St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Wooster.
