Women's Spring Weekend Retreat
April 23-25, 2010
Theme: "The
Art of Praying the Scriptures” Lectio Divina- Divine Reading
Retreat Master: Fr. Albert M. Marflak, OSB
The Second
Vatican Council, in the decrees Dei Verbum and Perfectae
Caritatis, affirms the call of all Christians to prayerfully read and meditate on the Scriptures in
order to have “an excelling knowledge of Jesus Christ.” Pope Benedict,
XVI, speaks of theology as “contemplating the mysteries of Faith in
Scripture.” The Church is to renew herself through “an intimate
experience of the spiritual richness of liturgy, of meditation, and of
‘lectio divina.’” This retreat is meant to help us understand and
practice the art of praying the Scriptures.
Our weekend begins
on Friday evening with
registration at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m.
and the Retreat will conclude after brunch on Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
Cost:
$150.00 per person, includes two nights accommodations, five home-cooked meals and
refreshments. $50.00 deposit due with registration; balance due on
arrival. Towels and linens are provided.
